The Treasure State " MONTANA"

Geography - Culture - History
.
Visitors love Montana. Spectacular snow-covered mountains, vast prairie lands, and beautiful forests make Montana a special place. Wild rivers and streams are filled with rainbow trout and other fishes. Elk, bear and other wildlife are bountiful in Montana.
Montana's early history is a story of Indians, mountain men, and prospectors. Until the mid-1800s, thousands of buffalo grazed the short-grass prairies. In the 1870s, large cattle ranches developed thoughout many areas in Montana Territory.
Later, many homesteaders arrived to settle the land and build towns. Home was often a log cabin. Statehood was achieved in 1889. Today, agriculture, manufacturing, and service-related industries (such as tourism), dominate Montana's economy.
With a population of 902,195 people in a land area of 147,000 square miles, Montana is a sparsely populated state. So there's plenty of room to roam, in the countryside and in the cities.

Montana map

Eastern Montana is an area of rolling plains. Grasslands with few trees dominate the landscape. Huge wheat farms and cattle ranches are common in eastern Montana.
In central Montana, the plains are dotted with small mountain ranges. Cattle ranching is a way of life. Mule deer and antelope roam the prairies throughout eastern and central Montana.
Western Montana is a region of magnificent mountains. Welcome to the Rocky Mountains. The Absaroka Range near Billings is snow covered much of the year and reaches over 12,000 feet in elevation.
The wild and pristine landscape of western Montana is home to mountain lions, and grizzly bears. Gray wolves are common in Yellowstone Park.
Montana has exciting historical places. Wonderful museums are found in cities, big and small. Fishing, hunting, camping, and skiing are popular activities.
"Old West" traditions live on in Montana. Cowboys drive cattle high up into the mountains to feed on lush summer grasses. Indians, in full native dress, gather to celebrate their customs at the Lewis and Clark County fairgrounds in Helena and other areas of the state.
Montana is called the "Treasure State." This slogan symbolizes the wealth derived from the state's rich gold and silver deposits. True to its history, Montana is a genuine treasure, with its abundant natural resources and friendly people.

10 ways to get an upgrade Factors that will increase your chances

 By
You see them crowding the airport check-in counter, looking for a sign. Waiting for an announcement.

They are business travelers, frequent fliers, off-duty employees, and even first-timers. They are the last ones to board, but the first ones to petition for an available seat up front.
Every flight has its share of upgrade candidates. But there are usually more candidates than first-class seats, and as a result, some of those passengers become very upset. (If you’re one of those people, here’s a little something to ponder: If the airlines upgraded everyone, how would they make any money?)
Still, the upgrade brigade persists, even after the last person has boarded.

Among the arguments I’ve heard for reassigning a passenger to a premium seat: “My reading light doesn’t work, my seat doesn’t recline, I smell smoke, I have asthma, diarrhea, epilepsy, heart condition. I am too tall, fat, old. I lost my boarding card, and the ground agent said I could take a seat anywhere. I hate this airline, love this airline, I work for another airline, I am an employee for this airline. My sister’s ex-boyfriend’s doctor’s cousin’s daughter used to fly for this airline.”
They never work. Well, almost never.

One time a passenger had a heart attack, and we had a fairly empty first-class section. We moved him up there until we landed. But that’s a pretty tough way to get more legroom.
I have had passengers shake my hand upon boarding and slip me twenties, fifties and even hundred dollar bills asking me to “see what I can do for them.” I even had a lady promise to induct me into the mile high club if I got her a higher-class seat.

It’s not that the flight attendants don’t want to upgrade you, it’s just plain and simple: we can’t. Our rules of conduct state specifically that upgrading (without permission from a supervisor on the ground or in emergencies, from the captain) is an offense punishable by immediate discharge.
It’s a firm rule, with no room for negotiation or interpretation.

Keep this in mind: you could have an airline employee eating right out of your hand, but when the magic word or implication of an upgrade arises, an alarm bell goes off in his head which discredits everything you have said up to that point. You’ve been made. We call it our BS alert.
Here are some factors that will increase your chances of getting an upgrade:

  1. Become a member of that specific airline’s frequent flier mileage club. You can be a member of many different airlines’ clubs.
  2. The flight is oversold in economy, but there are empty seats in business and or first class.
  3. You are dressed smartly or in business attire. Jacket and tie for men and a dress/suit for women.
  4. You are traveling alone. Sorry, if you’re with kids, it’s almost an automatic disqualifier.
  5. Always be willing to move when asked. I know of a man who refused to move because he was seated on the aisle. What he didn’t realize was that the seat they were offering him was in first class.
  6. Courtesy and kindness does go a long way in this industry — I have seen many people upgraded just because the kindness they showed. I know when I am aboard, if someone is especially nice, I want to do something extra for him or her, and I’m positive the ground staff feel the same way.
  7. Be early. Your chances of sitting up front diminish quickly when you inquire at the last minute.
  8. If you have been seriously inconvenienced on a previous flight, make sure the check-in agents know about it. But don’t make a scene or they will put you in the worst possible seat, hoping never to see you again.
  9. Use the right card. Many times the credit card you pay with has a redeemable mile feature usable with several different airlines.
  10. When you book the ticket ask about upgrades and prices. There is a fare called Y-UP fares that cost a little more but increases your upgrade chances immensely. Many times there are ongoing promotions to spur first class revenue. I paid full fare on an airline and was amazed when an extra $20 got me sitting in 1A. I can easily justify that cost in red wine.
Let’s face it, domestic first class, if there even is one, is probably not worth the upgrade effort, but I believe internationally, it is. It’s not just about free drinks and slightly bigger seats; I am talking about gourmet food, premium wines and seats that convert into beds. So if you strive for an upgrade, do it on an international flight.
If you find yourself up front on a future flight, have a glass of red wine for me. I recommend the California Cabernet my airline carries. Who knows, I might be the one pouring it for you.

How to Create an Online Travel Agency

Do you daydream about earning money from the comfort of your own home, setting your own hours, and being part of an exciting and dynamic field? Then perhaps you should create your own online travel agency. You can become a work at home travel agent for as little as 0.
Once you decide that you want to have a home travel agency, d evelop a business plan outlining what your goals are and budget. The amount of money you make with your own travel agency will depend on how much work, time, and effort you put into it. You will also need to do your research. Read as much as you can about the different home based travel agency options, determine if certification or registration is required in your state and what educational opportunities are available. While there is not a required educational course to become a travel agent per se, if you are not familiar with the business a course may be beneficial to you. When working your budget consider if your state requires registration since that can be expensive and also keep in mind what type of insurance or bonding you may need to protect you from liability.
Determine if you need to work with a host agency or if you will have your own. Some states that require registration (as of this writing Hawaii, California, Nevada, Ohio, Florida and Oregon) or that travel agents be bonded to run a host agency can cause costs to become very high as previously stated. If you do decide to work as an independent contractor with a host agency, be sure that they are established and reputable. If you have decided that a home travel agency is for you, you may want to obtain an IATAN (International Airlines Travel Agent Network) ID card. This is your documentation that you are a credible travel agent. This travel agent ID card will also allow you to work with commercial suppliers.
To become a truly successful home travel agency, find a niche! Decide what type of travel you want to sell, such as cruises or Disney packages. It helps to be familiar with your product. For example, if you have traveled to Europe many times, you would be knowledgeable in planning a vacation there. You will thrive if you focus on a particular area of travel. Remember, you are selling a service and a product.

Business Trip Travel Insurance

If you are planning a business trip, you may be under the impression that if anything was to happen to you while you were away that your employer will cover it. However, the chances are, your employer will be under the assumption you have arranged your own travel insurance, therefore responsibility, as far as your employer is concerned, would lie with you.
Whether you are self employed, or an employee, or an employer, looking to take a trip to improve relations or get a better deal from a supplier, o meet that all important new client, but having business trip travel insurance in place you can be sure that all you need to worry about is the ask at hand, and not anything related to your trip.
Having the insurance is not just sound financially, but, in the event of an emergency, can also help your business make the most of an unfortunate situation, as well as ensure that you business meeting is not too effected by any mishaps that may happen. Your cover could include a replacement colleague clause, so that if you or your employee is sick during their business trip, your insurance will cover most if not all of the costs in replacing that colleague with another member of staff.
Time and time again we hear that our own government officials have left extremely sensitive and important information, appear and digital based, in places they shouldn't have been left. It happens, and when it does, it can cause a real problem within your business. No matter how comprehensive your insurance is, no amount of money can bring that data back, so be sure you have back up copies of all important documents relating to your business. However, your business trip insurance can cover the cost of a replacement laptop, which at least softens the bow a little when you have o tell your employer the bad news.
No matter what you encounter during your business trip, by taking out the appropriate insurance you can be sure that no matter what unexpected events occur, your business will not be affected. Business trips are a necessary burden to most people, and the burden should not be made any bigger by needing insurance, and not having it.
If your business trip is not all work related, and you plan to have a little fun while you're away, some providers will be able to offer cover equivalent to a holiday single trip, which will be an extra benefit of your business trip insurance.
Make sure you check with your insurer to find out exactly what your policy covers.

How to Start a Profitable Pet Sitting Business

So you want to be a pet sitter? What is involved? How do I get started? Well, I've pet sitting for over 6 years, and it's been a wonderful experience. For anyone who is thinking about starting his or her own pet sitting service, read on.
Pet sitting is strictly an animal-lovers only profession. And profession is exactly what sort of business pet sitting is. It requires a great deal of commitment; walking dogs in the pouring rain, snowstorms, and 100-degree temperatures. It is not an easy job by any means, but it can be one of the most rewarding occupations if you sincerely love animals. Getting started is the hardest part.
First, you need to come up with a name for your business. You will also have to check to see that no one else in your area has the same name. You can do this by looking through the phone book, and by contacting some of the pet sitters in your area whom have web sites. A great starting point is Pet Sitters International (PSI) (http://www.petsit.com). PSI maintains a full service web site that includes a locator service.
All you have to do is to key in the zip codes of the areas that you want to work, and the site will list all of the pet sitters who have also registered for those zip codes. This will tell you the names of the other businesses, so that you do not accidentally chose the name of an already existing service. It the name you wanted is not listed there, or is not in the phone book, then you have a pretty good chance of keeping the name of your business. Don't be discouraged if you find that there are many pet sitters in your area, or selected zip codes. Pet sitting is in high demand, and many pet sitters are no longer accepting new clients as they are booked to the maximum.
The next thing you have to consider is liability insurance. Don't think that you can operate without having pet sitter's insurance. No one will hire you without it. You must understand where the clients are coming from; you will be a complete stranger with a key to their house. For safety's sake, and in this era of lawsuits, get the insurance. The insurance costs between 0.00 and 0.00, depending on where you live, and whether or not you will be offering grooming as a service. Pet Sitter's International provides a link to an insurance company that will get you started in about a week.
Once you have the liability insurance, you can start making business cards. You will also want join Pet Sitter's International so that you can be listed on their locator link. This way, anyone can key in his or her zip code, and if it is a zip code that you have selected, your name, phone number, web site, and information will appear. It's a great way of advertising your business. Be sure to put that you are a member of PSI on your business cards, as pet owners recognize PSI as a highly professional and recognized Pet Sitting organization.
You will have to then think about the sort of animals that you would like to service. Some pet sitters provide services to cats only, while some pet sitters will provide services to any pet. Also, some pet sitters only provide regular daily services, such as dog-walks, while others prefer to provide occasional services for people who go out of town occasionally, or on vacation. Many pet sitters do both. However, think long and hard about this, for you might have 3-4 dog walks on the same day, and 3-4 cats every other day. Figure out what you can handle.
The next and most important step is writing a contract. In your contract you must list everything about your service. Your rates will be the most important thing to consider. Most pet sitters, depending on where you live, charge between and per half-hour walk. You will need to spell out, very clearly:
-Will you provide feedings?
-Administer medications?
-Provide a 1/2 hour walk? A 40-minute walk?
-What sort of notice do you need? A day, a week?
-Provision of a pet info form; pet's vet info, emergency contact info, behavioral issues, allergies, medical conditions, where pet's food is kept, etc.
-Are there any sorts of pets that you will not service? Pit bulls? Snakes?
-List the name and telephone of your insurance company.
-List at least three references
-Provide a mission statement: why are you a pet-sitter?
-How can clients reach you? Home phone, cell phone, e-mail?
-Where will the client's house keys be stored? In a locked safe?
-What areas will you service?
Once you have your contract ready, make sure that each potential client has a copy. Once the Pet Info form is filled out by the pet's owner, make sure that you; keep a paper copy, a copy on disc, and that the pet's owner is given a copy to be placed in a common area, so that you will know where to find it in case of an emergency.
The most efficient way of running a pet sitting service is having a listing on the Internet. Now, if you have an Internet provider that provides you with a free home page, you can use that as you web site. You can purchase a DOT.COM name by registering your name with any one of thousands of DOT.COM merchants. This service costs less than .00. Once you have the DOT.COM name, which is the name of your business; the DOT.COM company provides a "URL Forwarding" service. This means that if your business is: WWWSamspets.com, anyone opening that web page will automatically be redirected to your homepage. This is by far much easier than telling people your homepage address. Homepages generally have about 20 alpha-number combinations, for example: Sampets/homepage/MSN.hfw938/93zll/html.
No one would bother trying to remember such a web page URL. It is easier to remember Samspets.com, and to click on the dot.com page and be forwarded directly to your page. On your page you should include an e-mail link (which again forwards directly to your private e-mail address, so that you do not have to keep clicking in to your DOT.COM mail, as this can be very frustrating). When you list with a locator service, your DOT.com address will show up, and the client can go directly to your page and read about your service. You can register with the search engines, but that takes a lot of time and sometimes a bundle of money.
If you are a new pet sitter, you will need references. If you do not have references, volunteer to sit for a friend's pet for free in exchange for a reference. Most people would love to go away for a weekend and have FIDO taken care of at no charge. You can also begin to network with other area pet sitters. Many times, they will have more business than they can handle, and can pass along referrals.
Beware of expensive newspaper advertising; it is costly, and most people will not see the ad. Try posting business cards where professional people tend to be, grocery stores, veterinarian's offices, and community bulletin boards. The majority of your customers will be professionals who work late, go on business trips, and need someone to care for their pets while they are at work, or on business trips.
Read up on the different breeds of dogs and cats, so that you can gather as much information as possible. Also, be sure to arrange an interview with the pet and the pet owner to be sure that the match is perfect. The pet and the pet's owner need to feel comfortable with you as well.
As a pet sitter you are an independent contractor. This is great tax deductible small business, if you a homeowner, or even a renter. You can deduct all of your printing costs and the purchase of your computer; a portion of your home or apt. is also tax deductible.
Good luck on your new venture, and welcome to the rewarding field of pet sitting!

5 Business Travel Apps About Cultural Diversification

As you head to the airport for holiday and business travel, it’s important to keep in mind the cultural differences in locations you haven’t done much research on. Dining etiquette could be diverse, along with tipping rules and other general customs. Mashable posted a great story from their International Business Series sponsored by UPS.
Here are the five business travel apps for learning about customs and cultures of different countries on the fly.
1. Business Practices by the Brannen Group breaks down what you need to know about conducting business in different countries and provides in-depth explanations. What may seem as an obvious part of business etiquette is then broken down by what is expected by the culture.
“‘Be Punctual,’ for instance, might seem like obvious advice for conducting business anywhere, but the in-depth explanation in the Japan app also explains that if you are late, you need only apologize — not provide details — and that due to long commutes, it’s best not to schedule meetings before 9 a.m.,” according to the article.
2. CultureGPS Lite follows the thought process behind Dutch social psychologist Dr. Geert Hofstede and that there are five dimensions that differentiate cultures: how society handles inequalities among people (power distance); to what extent people look after only themselves and their families (individualism); how focused on achievement the culture is (masculinity); the extent to which people feel threatened by uncertainty and try to avoid it (uncertainty avoidance); and long term orientation, which is the extent a society shows a future-oriented perspective rather than a historical or short-term point of view.
The app provides these scores of cultures and the professional version allows for comparison of two countries and recommendations related to the differences.
3. Business Traveler’s Passport Series is a general database about travel needs such as how to tip taxi drivers, how to greet someone in a business setting, and what women’s roles are at the destination.
4. World Customs & Cultures is a free app and covers many of the cultural differences that you’ll come across when traveling for business, such as personal space, eye contact, gender issues, and important laws.
5. International Business Etiquette provides an online etiquette guide powered by translation company, Kwintessential, and is especially useful when you don’t have your laptop handy.

There are a variety of groups you can contact that generally book group tours, an option that is great for you to start with as these people will be travelling together and start with a great base of members you can offer your services to. Cruise ship travel, senior citizen group travel, and singles group excursions are all examples of great places to pull clientele. There are also a lot of options within the travel business, from simply setting up logistics to becoming a group travel tour operator . One thing is for sure, each day in the travel industry is a new adventure!
Let's turn for a moment to the benefits of a home travel business with New Travel Rewards. You will have the freedom of setting your own schedule, no bosses looking over your shoulder, and additional time to spend with family. There are some risks to consider, mainly that as an employee you won't have someone taking taxes out of your paychecks every week, which can make tax season difficult, but if you plan well ahead, you can avoid this speed bump entirely. Many people find that they earn far more money this way than they did working for a larger corporation. Since you are running the business out of your house, you will have far less overhead than a traditional store-front business.
When we take the new liberty of having your own schedule and working hours, and then combine that with the exciting new career option of independent travel agent , you are left with a delightful combination of opportunities. You can focus on a particular niche of say, cruise ship travel , and explore the different places you can go, as well as the people you can go with. There are extremely popular cruises tours now of Alaska, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and more. You can even integrate activities into these trips if you are planning on being a tour operator as well, things like whale watching, wine tastings, or other exciting cultural events and increase your income even more!
Alternatively, you can focus on a niche of customers, for example, student groups. When considering this demographic, you will want to lean more towards summer, or spring break trips- making this an excellent option for those choosing to make this a part-time addition to their livelihoods. Students also tend to bring along less luggage, and are less concerned about staying in upscale accommodations, so you can concern yourself less with the overhead, and focus more on your attractions. This can be a great way for the students to get an in-depth experience of one particular place or way of living; and a great way for you to organize an excellent tour they will recommend to friends, classmates, and colleagues for years to come.
Ultimately, these are just a few in the wide galaxy of great reasons to consider a home based travel business as your next part-time or full-time career move, or even just a way to make some extra money on the side and travel for free! Why Can't I Just Choose The Cheapest Luggage For my Trip?

Why Can't I just Choose the Cheapest Luggage for my Trip?
   By Kathy Steinemann

Your choice of luggage can make any vacation or business trip much easier if some forethought is used. Never buy suitcases based purely on price or your favorite color! Read these tips before you purchase luggage for your next trip.
Your choice of luggage can make any vacation or business trip much easier if some forethought is used. Never buy suitcases based purely on price or your favorite color!
You should consider several factors, such as:
• How long do you plan to travel?
• Do you intend to pack heavy items (like books or sports equipment)?
• Are you short in stature?
• Do you know the weight/size restrictions of your travel carrier?
• Do you intend to transport or purchase any fragile items?
Luggage can be categorized into three main groups: hard-shell, soft-sided, and semi-soft.
No matter which group you choose from, ensure that your bags:
• Have lockable zippers and compartments
• Are waterproof
• Are durable
• Are in good repair
Some carriers will refuse to accept your luggage if it looks like it will disintegrate during your trip.
Hard-shell suitcases are ideal if you intend to carry fragile items; but this type of luggage can be very heavy. Be kind to your back and ensure that all of your suitcases have wheels. Try to find luggage with metal-reinforced corners to protect it from damage during baggage handling.
Soft-sided luggage is lightweight - but you will not get the best protection for fragile souvenir treasures. If you decide on soft-sided baggage, make sure that you cram each suitcase as full as possible to avoid shifting and wrinkling of your clothing.
Semi-soft baggage is constructed with a hard frame (like hard-shell suitcases). Strong fabric is then placed over the frame. The frame provides more protection than soft-sided luggage, with the added advantage of being lighter than hard-shell offerings.
If you are a frequent business traveler, you might want to consider purchasing a good quality suit or garment bag. Try to locate one with multiple pockets and tough zippers. With careful planning, you should be able to pack enough clothing for up to a week.
A single carry-on, rucksack, or duffel bag is great for a weekend getaway. However, since August 10, 2006, airline restrictions will force you to place liquids, gels, and pastes into another checked bag.
Your luggage should appear distinctive. Having the same beige or black baggage as everyone else makes it difficult to locate your belongings on luggage carousels. You can transform basic black into bold and beautiful with decals, fabric paint, colorful tape wrapped around handles, etc. Your imagination is the only limit!
Short passengers should avoid huge suitcases that are difficult to lug around. Smaller suitcases and baggage with retractable wheels and telescoping handles will make life on the road considerably easier. If you cannot find suitable bags with wheels and telescoping handles, purchase a baggage caddy.
Colorful duffel bags are a favorite with most children. If you do an online search for 'duffel bags kids' or something similar, you will find thousands of websites.
After you have packed all your bags, try lugging them around the block the same way you will be carrying them through the airport, railway terminal, or bus station. If you can only walk a block or two, your luggage is too heavy. Repack!
Do you plan to do a lot of souvenir shopping? Squeeze in an extra soft-sided bag - or nest two hard shell suitcases, one inside the other. When you return, you will have an additional bag - so be sure that you do not exceed your carrier's restrictions. Remember, also, that charter flights may have different restrictions than regular flights.
Paying attention to your individual needs and personality when you choose your luggage will make your travel much more enjoyable.

Wheelchair Travel - How to Get Around

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, one in five Americans has some sort of disability. Traveling with a wheelchair is now much easier than in decades past and many wheelchair travelers are taking advantage of it. Legal Changes to Wheelchair Travel: In recent years, we have seen huge developments in disabled traveling. Many businesses have recognized that they need to accommodate all travelers, or they may not see that business. Imagine a hotel where a wedding party is staying and a guest showed up in a wheelchair. That business would be lost entirely if the hotel could not provide the wheelchair access. Legal protection has also swayed businesses to accommodate the wheelchair travel as well. The Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) was passed to cover all U.S. air travel. It prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in air travel and requires air carriers to accommodate the needs of passengers with disabilities. The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) passed to accommodate travelers who use everything from museums to hotels and public transportation. Offerings for Wheelchair Travel Accommodations: You will find that when renting a car, many of them are offering vehicles with ramps or lowered floors. Many hotels and cruise lines are now making accommodations that are wheelchair accessible. Showers with roll in access are becoming more popular. Plan Ahead With Wheelchair Travel: When traveling with a wheelchair, you need to plan ahead and get as much information on your destination as possible before you leave. Plan carefully by being specific about your wheelchair needs. Contact the airlines, cruise line, hotel, or other accommodations about their facilities for the wheelchair traveler. If possible, find a travel agent who has experience in booking for disabled persons. Resources for the Wheelchair Traveler: There are many resources for the disabled traveler to access. It is important that you know your rights as a wheelchair traveler and that you can communicate them to others. - The Department of Transportation on their Website (dot.gov) has updates to the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) -The Society for Accessible Travel and Hospitality (sath.org) offers information on disabled traveler opportunities. - The Americans Disability Act (ADA) Website (ada.gov) gives updates concerning accommodations made for wheelchair access to many public facilities.

How To Turn Your Business Trip Into An Exciting Getaway

to be all business. Plan ahead using the above mentioned small business travel guide and turn your business travel into a mini vacation.
Article by Frank Johnson
Business travel - it's unavoidable. It's a part of the normal business model. Just about everyone will go on a business trip at least once for their company; even you. Regardless of whether you sell cars or design websites, chances are you will travel for business at least once in your professional career.
If you're going on a business trip, below are a few recommendations on how to morph your business trip into a mini vacation. Follow them closely and you're trip won't be all business.
Small Business Travel Tip #1 - Plan Ahead
If you want to make the most out of your trip, the first thing you need to do is clearly list all business-related items that need to be accomplished on your trip. That includes writing an itinerary for all meetings, business lunches, seminars, conference calls, and travel time needed to get to and from each event. This will help you identify any free time you'll have in between your business functions. By writing out your business itinerary and identifying your free time ahead of time, you'll be able to schedule side trips and tours to explore the state or country you're in, and make the most of your trip.
Small Business Travel Tip #2 - Be Realistic
The one thing to remember when you're on a business trip is that you're there to work. Your trip isn't a free pass to go exploring, clubbing, or site seeing. You're being sent to a specific location to do specific work. If you have the opportunity to do anything that isn't work-related, it's going to be small. There won't be time for day trips to the countryside or wine tasting. You may have time to visit a few local sites and maybe a museum or two, but nothing too involved. Don't expect too much personal travel time on a business trip. Remember, you're not there to site see.
Small Business Travel Tip #3 - Consult the Group
After you've made your business itinerary for your business travel trip and identified your free time, check with the coworkers you're traveling with (if any) before you leave to see if they'd mind if you visited a local attraction or point of interest on the trip. This does, however, open up the possibility of your coworkers asking to accompany you on the side trip, but remember; there is power in numbers. If multiple coworkers are going on a side trip, the better your chances are of writing off the excursion as a business expense. You can say it was a "team building" exercise. Informing your travel companions ahead of time will also eliminate the possibility of causing waves when you suddenly disappear during a 3-hour break to visit a local attraction.
Small Business Travel Tip #4 - Book in Advance
If it turns out you'll have a few hours to see the sites on your business travel, be sure to book in advance. Some tours require reservations. So, before you leave for your trip, call ahead and see if you need to make a reservation to see a site or participate in a tour. It will save you time and allow you to better balance your time on your business trip.
Small Business Travel Tip #5 - Be Flexible
Even though you've identified your free time and got the OK from the rest of the travel group to see the city, it is possible that you won't be able to see the sites you planned on seeing during your business trip. Remember, you are traveling for business, so unscheduled or unexpected meetings, conference calls, or business dinners might pop up. You don't want to cancel on a client lunch just to see Alcatraz. Be flexible with your plans and be sure to put business before pleasure.
Business travel is something everyone will experience at least once in their lifetime. However it doesn't have

How To Have A Good Time When Travelling Alone

Who said that you need to travel with company in order to have a good time? Travelling alone can be an equally rewarding experience, provided you know how to make the most of it.

How to have a good time when travelling alone

1. Observe other people

Travelling alone gives you the opportunity to observe other people. You will be surprised by how much you can learn about the human soul and behavior by carefully observing other travellers, or even those who work at the airport or the hotel. Watch their body language, the way they interact with other people. Maybe you will recognise someone you know in them. For writers, this is a great opportunity for inspiration.

2.Interact with other people

While travelling alone, take advantage of the opportunity to interact with other people.Chat with other travellers, volunteer to help in case a problem arises, ask questions, make comments. This is a good chance to make new friends, or who knows, even find the love of your life!

3. Create your own schedule

When travelling alone, you are able to create your own schedule. You can wake up any time you want, do whatever you want, for as long as you want, and go to bed any time you want. You do not have to take into consideration what other people think, because you are all alone. Take full advantage of that freedom to do whatever your heart desires and feel free to change it whenever you feel like it.

4. Do some soul searching

Take advantage of the fact you are alone at a new place to do some soul searching and get in touch with the deepest parts of your mind and soul. Perhaps you will discover that you want to take a different career path, end a relationship, start a new one, or engage in new activities that fulfill you. If you were travelling with company, you wouldn't be able to do that.

5. Spend some quality time with yourself

While travelling alone, you can spend some quality time with yourself. That might be hard to accomplish at first, if you are used to travelling with company, or if you usually hang out with friends when you want to have fun. It is important to realise though that only if you manage to spend some quality time with yourself , will you manage to really spend quality time with others as well. If you depend on others to have a good time, then you will be miserable when you have to be by yourself.

6. Take a break from reality

When travelling alone, take a break from reality. This is the time to forget everything you do on a daily basis, and do completely different things, at your own pace. Set your mind and soul free and see where they lead you, without thinking about rules or habits. Even if you decide to spend a whole day looking at the sea, it is worthwhile, if it is going to refresh your mind and soul.

Having a good time when travelling alone will be the beginning of a new era, full of possibilities.

5 Time Travel Love Films

Science fiction movies are usually among the most demanding and costly films to produce which make them more interesting and worth your money to check out by paying for a movie ticket. Science fiction with a time travel plot are usually twice the thrill and excitement anybody could expect in watching films of the type. So just consider all these movie categories rolled into one with the added love story twist.

Time After Time (1979) – This movie was released in August 1979 and stars Malcolm McDowell, David Warner and Mary Steenburgen. The story takes the plot that H.G. Wells (Malcolm McDowell) actually gained his hands on a functional time machine as described in his novel “The Time Machine”. The sad twist however was that Jack the Ripper identified as one of the writer’s friend, a surgeon by the name John Leslie Stevenson (David Warner) utilized it to continue his killing spree in the future (1979). The time machine however has a default setting to travel back where it came from, a reverse mechanism which his friend failed to disable allowing the device to return in the past where H.G. Wells managed to trace what point in time his friend has gone as recorded on the destination time at the device. As H.G. Wells managed to travel forward in 1979, he falls in love with a bank teller, Amy Robbins (Mary Steenburgen) who unfortunately was to be the ripper’s next victim. As the writer was about to do his best to save Amy, he was picked up by the police as a probable suspect and the thrill of the story takes its course. In real life, Amy Robbins was H.G. Wells’ second wife.

Somewhere in Time (1980) - Imagine a love affair blossoming between a lady of the past and a man of the future. With the lead characters of Richard Collier (Christopher Reeve) and Elise McKenna (Jane Seymour) this impossible love affair between a bygone past and a future just unfolding had been brought to light. Collier was a playwright in the present (1980) while McKenna was a known actress during her time (1912). Enchanted by an old picture of a beautiful woman in a hotel, Collier manages to will himself to travel back in time through self hypnosis back in 1912 where he managed to meet the lady in the picture. The trick however was to travel back in time without carrying any material object from the present that would remind the subject and ultimately lose the spell of hypnosis which Richard Collier failed to do. As he was enjoying the moment in the company of Elise McKenna he had somehow felt something from his suit pocket and searched with his hand to discover a 1979 Lincoln penny which randomly sent him off hypnosis leaving his beloved lady in the past as the course of the events pulled him back to the year 1980. The film did not perform well in the box office but has been considered a classic among time travel enthusiasts.

Back to the Future III (1990) – Most film enthusiasts knew what happened in Back to the Future I and II. The concluding part makes it even more exciting as Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown (Christopher Lloyd) meets the love of his life in Clara Clayton (Mary Steenburgen) a schoolteacher. If you noticed it, Mary Steenburgen is a veteran time traveller in her movie roles (after 11 years since Time After Time) and from 1979 (in previous movie) she gets transported back in 1885 in this particular film story to go time travelling with Doc in their specially designed locomotive equipped with a flux capacitor with their children, Jules and Verne in joining back Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) in 1985 at the ending of this film just to show that everything went well after his departure from 1885. The train which was also equipped with anti-gravity to set it hovering like the DeLorean, gained altitude as Doc’s family bid Marty farewell sending them whichever timeline they may have opt for. The film ranked as the 6th top grossing film of 1990 earning 4,527,583 worldwide out of a million budget.

Kate and Leopold (2001) - Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) tries their chemistry in this movie which seemed to work out. Hugh Jackman plays a Duke of Albany from from 1876 pressured by his uncle to get married to a rich woman as their family riches is running down. Travelling in time to 21st century New York through a time portal he discovered by following physicist Stuart Besser (Liev Scrieber), Leopold Alexis Elijah Walker Thomas Gareth Mountbatten (Jackman) meets Kate McKay (Meg Ryan) after getting out of a time portal and falls in love with her. So just imagine the controversy of time issues from 1876 to the present setting of the film and how the relationship between the man from the past won the heart of the lady of the present allowing the former to take the lady back in time where he came.

The Time Traveller’s Wife (2009) - Imagine you have the natural ability to travel forward and back in time as it is built into your genes. Eric Bana (Incredible Hulk) stars as Henry De Tamble, the time traveller in this movie with the natural ability to travel back and forth in time which is a kind of a physical abnormality considering it often happens at random without his control and the twist having that when he arrives at the destination, his clothes fail to travel with him leaving him naked upon arrival compelling him to steal some for cover. He meets and falls in love with Clare (Rachel McAdams) in the present time and eventually marries her. Clare actually having played earlier roles in his time travelling as he discovered specific dates in her diary recording the time of his arrivals from his travels in the past. He noted the dates and forwarded it to the young Clare so she could be out waiting with clothes on specified dates of his travels. The film was positively received by critics having grossed 1,229,792 worldwide out of million budget.

Business Travel

Business travel is probably the oldest form of travel known to man and perhaps the single most influential reason behind the development of the travel industry. A few millennia ago traders and sea farers undertook arduous journeys across the seven seas and the five continents in the name of commerce. Today company executives undertake the same journeys, sometimes even visiting the same cities in the name of corporate travel.
With the globalization of international trade and emerging markets, business travel has grown exponentially. Following the post Second World War era and the expansion of trade and commerce many corporate organizations looked towards expanding their horizons and spreading beyond their homelands. This concept is not entirely new, for example the colonial eras preceding the 20th century saw certain European companies expanding into Asia, Australia and Africa.
Following this phenomenon and the emerging markets in Asia and Latin America fuelled the growth of business travel.
Especially with the current lull in the global economy, increasing inflation, high oil prices and the specter of terrorism leisure travel has seen a decrease. However, by stark contrast business travel has been increasing rapidly. Many attribute this to North American companies outsourcing production to emerging Asian players such as China, Vietnam and Thailand. Also the booming economies of India and China have made it the place to be as far as trade and commerce is concerned.
With a number of factors fuelling the growth of business travel, many airlines, hotels and other travel related service providers have been quick to explore this vibrant market segment.
Business travelers are mostly affluent and demand a certain level of sophistication. They also require tools to facilitate their business transactions such as meeting and conferencing facilities, the latest communications technology and most importantly a serene environment at the hotel they chose to stay in.
For business travellers to treading all around the world, Langham Hotels offer a luxurious gateway. Langham International, a reputed luxury hotel chain offers great comforts to business travelers from around the world at its numerous properties.

Pantai Cenang

pantai cenang

Pantai Cenang – Langkawi’s main vein – may not be as rowdy as the Las Vegas strip but it is Malaysia’s most developed west-coast beach; its shores are a gorgeous mix of white sand, crystalline turquoise-blue waters and verdant palms.
Crammed with mostly budget to mid-range hotels, Pantai Cenang – located 25 km west of Kuah – is also home to more than a few high-end resorts. When the sun goes down a peculiar jumble of backpackers, expats, Asian tourists and families throng the main road to eat, drink and window shop.
There are a multitude of restaurants along this thoroughfare that serve seafood, western fare and local favourites. Try the cool Red Tomato for a drink or dine at Orkid Ria and sample some of their giant tiger prawns.
During low season Pantai Cenang is relatively lifeless.
